What we mean by “healthcare AI”

AI in healthcare only matters if it works inside the existing workflow — alongside the clinician, the adjuster, the attorney — not as a separate dashboard nobody opens. Every project Medplaza has been involved with starts from the actual end-to-end task: ingesting records, producing a report, responding to a denial, charting a visit. The model is the means; the workflow is the goal.

Projects we've been involved with

Medplaza has contributed development services to six healthcare platforms: a medical record review platform for AI-assisted record review in personal injury and medical-legal cases, an EHR platform for personal injury, independent medical evaluation (IME), and medical-legal practices, a prior authorization appeals platform for authorization-denial appeals, a telehealth platform for HIPAA-compliant virtual visits, an AI medical transcription platform, and an AI scribe for clinical intake and documentation. Each is a focused platform for its own workflow, and each is an example of the kind of project Medplaza helps design and build.

How we work

• Physicians in the loop. Every clinical workflow these platforms touch was designed with practicing physicians, not inferred from documentation.
• Grounded models. We anchor AI output to primary sources — prior appeal decisions, evidence-based treatment guidelines, prior charting — and surface those citations to the user.
• HIPAA-conscious from day one. Encryption at rest and in transit, strict access scoping, audit logs, and engagement-level BAAs where required.
• Narrow before broad. We scope each engagement tight, around one workflow, before generalizing — medical-legal and independent medical evaluation (IME) work were the beachhead, not the ceiling.
